Grow A Colony officially lets players defeat Colonies, and the Roblox record allows up to 12 players per server. That supports rival-colony combat, but it does not publish universal PvP protection, war declaration, loss, respawn, reward, or ownership rules. Scout the current server, test the smallest safe interaction, and keep the Queen plus Food economy protected.
Identify another colony and its boundary
Look for ownership colors, player names, nest markers, unit labels, warnings, or a protection timer. Do not treat every AI group as another player’s colony. Approach outside the apparent boundary and observe whether units react before enabling Attack.
Current screenshots show spawn-protection context in early play, but duration and exact protection rules need live confirmation. Read the current timer or message. Never assume another colony can or cannot be attacked from an old recording.
Prepare without abandoning home
Keep Workers on a safe Scavenge route and preserve enough Food to replace losses. Stage Majors and Drones with Follow away from the nest entrance. Leave a combat reserve between the Queen and likely approach.
Refill Water and choose a retreat. The Queen should not lead the formation into blind terrain. If the target is far, move in stages and confirm fighters remain grouped before continuing.
Test current hostility rules
Use a small recoverable fighter group near the edge of the opposing area. Read any prompt or warning before issuing Attack. Observe whether the game permits targeting, whether protection blocks damage, and whether the rival player or AI responds.
If combat begins, focus on one objective and keep the Queen back. Do not split units between the rival entrance, random creatures, and a second colony. Cancel pursuit when the group crosses beyond the planned line or Food production stops.
Protect Workers during war
The economy determines whether a battle can continue. Separate Worker selection so Follow or Attack does not pull every gatherer out. Keep the resource route away from the conflict if possible. If the route crosses rival territory, find a nearer source or pause the offensive.
Check Food after each engagement. A win that cannot replace units may be strategically negative. Rebuild before returning rather than feeding fighters into the same defense one at a time.
Verify rewards and losses
The official description supports more ants and Food from defeating Colonies, but no exact formula is public. Record balances before and after a completed encounter. Note whether rewards depend on Queen, units, structures, final hit, or objective completion only when the live result shows it.
Likewise, do not assume what happens when the Queen or colony is defeated. Observe respawn, retained Points, selectable colony, lost units, and nest state in the current version. Use a low-stakes test before risking a long progression run.
Defend against another colony
Keep the entrance readable and a reserve inside or near it. Recall outward fighters with Follow when an approach is detected. Focus Attack on the nearest threat to the Queen rather than chasing a retreating unit across the map.
If the enemy reaches the chamber, maintain a lane for Workers and Queen movement. A crowded doorway can make defenders ineffective even when population is high. After the defense, cancel aggressive orders so survivors do not counter-chase blindly.
Colony-war checklist
- Confirm the opposing group is a colony and identify ownership.
- Read protection, warning, or targeting messages.
- Stabilize Food and reserve replacement resources.
- Refill Water and choose a retreat.
- Leave defenders near the Queen.
- Stage a small group with Follow.
- Attack one objective and watch current rules.
- Regroup, verify rewards and losses, then restore production.
Unknown rules to check live
War declaration, spawn protection, friendly fire, resource transfer, Queen-death consequences, respawn, persistent loss, reward distribution, and cooldowns are not safely published in current first-party text. They may change by update or server state. Treat them as live checks, not gaps to fill with rules from another colony game.
Use Protect the Queen for home defense or Points to determine whether a colony fight actually advances the intended balance.
