Grow A Colony progression has three distinct decisions: how to earn and spend Points, how to read the current Skill Tree, and whether an official Game Pass solves a problem worth Robux. All three depend on a stable colony. Food is the session economy generated by Workers; Points are a longer unlock balance; skills and Passes can change performance. Keep those systems separate so a purchase or upgrade can be evaluated cleanly.

Compare Game PassesBuild the foundation before grinding
Create a valid nest, establish repeated Worker Food returns, maintain the Queen’s Water, and add fighters only when they protect or open a route. A progression loop that collapses the colony between rewards is difficult to measure and expensive to repeat.
Watch the current Points balance before and after a complete objective. The official game description says players defeat Bug Creatures and Colonies for more ants and Food, but it does not publish a Points formula. Community guides and a 2X Points Pass establish that Points matter, not the exact best source.
Separate every balance and modifier
Set a measurable Points goal
Open the colony selector and read the current target. Current community reporting lists Army Ant, Fire Ant, Bullet Ant, and Termite at increasing Points thresholds, but those numbers can change. Use the live card, subtract your current balance, and estimate only after observing your own repeatable gain.
Run the same route several times without changing skills or Passes. Record starting and ending Points, duration, Food cost, losses, and whether the Queen had to abandon the objective. Choose the route with reliable net progress, not the largest single result.
Use the Skill Tree for a bottleneck
The public game page recently advertised a 5.2 Skill Tree update, while the current public line is 5.4. No complete official node archive was found. Open the live tree and read each node’s exact effect, cost, prerequisite, and current level before spending.
Choose the bottleneck that limits your run. If Food delivery is slow, compare economic or movement improvements shown by the game. If the Queen cannot survive required travel, consider survival. If threats stop an otherwise healthy route, compare combat support. Do not call a path universally best when your colony type, objective, and current tree differ.
Compare Passes by explicit promise
On August 28, Roblox listed five official Passes: 2X Points, 2X Food, Queen Bee (Perm), Hornet (perm), and Upgrade All Stats. Their live prices were 39, 99, 199, 299, and 399 Robux respectively. Prices can change. The purchase dialog and developer description are final.
Use rate Passes only if you expect enough future play in that system. Use colony Passes only if permanent access to the named identity is valuable without assumed hidden power. Treat Upgrade All Stats cautiously: its description promises maxed stats, but the exact stat list, relationship to the Skill Tree, and effect on learning normal progression need live verification.
Avoid stacking confusion
When testing a skill or Pass, change one modifier at a time. Record the baseline, activate or purchase, then repeat the same route. Do not compare a 2X Points account with a free account and conclude the colony type caused the difference.
Roblox Passes are purchases, not temporary test toggles, and refunds are not promised by these listings. Decide from the product text before paying. Never use a third-party discounted activation or share account credentials.
Progression milestones
An opening milestone is a repeatable Food return and safe Water access. A combat milestone is clearing one necessary target while production continues. A Points milestone is reaching a live selector threshold and confirming the unlock. A Skill Tree milestone is solving a named bottleneck with a visible before-and-after result. A purchase milestone is owned access or the exact multiplier described by the Pass.
These milestones are more useful than raw playtime. If a session is not advancing one, restore the weakest system instead of adding unrelated units or chasing a rumor.
Reset after an update
Read the current version line, selector, Skill Tree, and Pass descriptions. Recheck one short Food and Points route. Do not assume prices, nodes, or pathfinding behavior stayed identical because the same menu exists. Update 5.4 specifically mentions pathfinding, which can change the efficiency of an old route without changing its visible objective.
Progression checklist
- Stabilize Food, Water, commands, and Queen defense.
- Pick one live colony or upgrade target.
- Measure a repeatable route before estimating time.
- Keep Food, Points, skills, and Robux separate.
- Spend on the bottleneck shown by current play.
- Test one change at a time.
- Recheck the live UI after every update.
